How this works
How the hotels were chosen
Four categories were set first, then filled with hotels that are open and can be visited. Ice hotels are northern properties written up around winter, capsule hotels are houses built on a repeating sleeping unit, casino hotels are Canadian complexes covered as hotels and resorts, and art hotels are houses where the building itself is the subject. No hotel pays to appear.
Where the information comes from
Entries are written from public sources: the hotel or operator site, maps, and published articles. Where a source could not be found for a claim, the sentence was rewritten so that it says only what is supported. Nothing here is written from a stay, and nothing is written from a press invitation.
What this site does not carry
There are no prices, no star ratings, no room counts, no reviews, no scores and no booking links. Games, rules and betting are not described anywhere, including in the casino section, where only buildings, halls, dining rooms, spas and grounds are covered. Nothing on the site is an advertisement.
Updates and corrections
Each entry carries the month and year it was last read against its sources. Details change, and winter sites change most of all, so an entry can fall behind between readings. If something here is wrong or out of date, write and say so through the contact page and it will be checked and corrected.
